Redeemer Kids

“We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done.”
- Psalm 78:4

At Redeemer we have just over 100 children and young people who are part of our church family. As a church we are excited to tell our children about how good God is and what he has done, and to help them consider what difference that makes to them in their everyday lives.

On Sundays:
Everybody remains in the first part of the morning service as we worship together as a whole church family, although creche facilities are available for use on a self-serve basis if needed. After about half an hour, the service leader will indicate that it is time for the children to leave for their groups.

In their different groups, the children are taught the Bible in an age-appropriate way through story-telling, craft, games, discussions and prayer times.

Midweek:
Redeemer Church was planted out of Cornerstone Church (www.cornerstonechurch.org.uk) in 2017, and our older children and youth are invited to join together with those from Cornerstone Church at their building on Castle Boulevard on Friday evenings. Children are encouraged to bring along school friends, neighbours, and anyone else in the age group who might like to join in the fun!

All those who look after children at Redeemer have completed DBS checks and adhere to our safeguarding policy.

Redeemer Babies & Tots

Our Redeemer Babies & Tots group looks after those in our church family who are below school-age. There are toys out for the children to play with, books to look at, a craft activity and a separate area set aside for babies. We have a Bible story and singing time together, and enjoy a snack of a drink of water and a breadstick (for those old enough).

You are welcome to leave your baby/child with us and we will come and get you from the main service if your child becomes distressed, or you can stay to accompany your child if this suits your family better.

Redeemer Kids

We have two groups for primary school aged children: our lower primary group is for children in Reception to school year 2; our upper primary group is for children in school years 3-6.

Both of these groups will include time for drinks and biscuits, a Bible story, games, and usually a craft and/or prayer activity. We love to help the children to grow in their understanding of who God is and what he is like, and to do this we follow a syllabus that takes us through both Old Testament and New Testament stories.

Redeemer Youth

We are excited to welcome young people of secondary school age to Redeemer, and to consider together how we can help them to develop their own personal relationship with God.

Our young people (yrs7-11) meet together three times a month. On the occasions they remain in the main service they are given a booklet with questions and space for doodling to help them to engage with the sermon and to identify the main messages and how this might apply to their own situation.
